KrisNeriDecember 3 at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street – “From Principle to Story: Karma, and Respect for the Interdependent Web”

Local, award-winning author Kris Neri will share how the Unitarian Universalist Seventh Principle, which stresses respect for the interdependent web of all existence, led her to a secondary career path and ultimately brought about the theme of her Samantha Brennan and Annabelle Haggerty Magical Mystery series.

“When I was fairly new at writing, I helped another writer to overcome some writing challenges, and I feel that karma paid me back with more than I would have asked for by directing me toward a teaching path and providing ideas I would use in my own writing,” Neri said.

The humorous magical series that resulted features Samantha Brennan, a confused psychic, who teams up with Special Agent Annabelle Haggerty, a contemporary Celtic goddess working undercover within the FBI. Neri will also discuss her newest publication in the series, Magical Mushrooms.

Kris Neri writes the Tracy Eaton mystery series, the Samantha Brennan and Annabelle
Haggerty magical series, women’s fiction, and thrillers. She is a four-time NM-AZ Book Award
winner for her own novels and for books to which she’s contributed, as well as having been
honored by many other awards within the book industry, specifically in the mystery field. She
teaches writing for the prestigious Writers’ Program of the UCLA Extension School as well as
other writing organizations. Neri has been a resident of Silver City and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City since 2018.
