Library Concert: Hungrytown at the Silco

Thursday, February 22, 3:00pm

The Silco Theater

311 N. Bullard St., Silver City

The Silver City Public Library invites everyone to join us for a free concert at the Silco Theater with folk duo Hungrytown, Thursday, February 22, 3:00pm. Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson, through their years of worldwide touring and tireless devotion to many classic genres of music, have crafted Hungrytown into a true artistic hybrid, able to hold Celtic and Americana, ballads and psychedelia, sunshine and darkness, joy and despair--not only within the same album, but within the same song.

“It’s great to hear an act eschew sentimentality in favor of honesty and to prove that you don’t have to go raiding the memory of others to find the stuff that really good songs are made of,” writes Jedd Beaudoin of Popmatters. The duo has released three albums since 2007. Hungrytown's music has received extensive radio airplay worldwide and has appeared on several television shows, including The Daily Show and Portlandia. Learn more about Hungrytown at hungrytown.net .

The concert is free thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Library!
