Unless your last name is Firestone or Goodyear you are, more than likely, not in the business of reinventing the wheel. Having said that, most small business owners spend their time doing just that! Why do you think that is?

Think back to the day you started your business. You took your passion and started the process of bringing it to the masses. This passion is the key component to launching a startup. Passion is what gets you out of bed in the morning! Passion drives you to talk about your business and it is evident when you are promoting your business to others. Passion has been the catalyst for getting nearly every other successful startup off the ground. But passion isn't enough!

The reality of small business entrepreneurs is that the we spend our time working hard in our companies, spinning our wheels, trying to be the master of everything of our realm. We understand that the success of our own business depends on US! "If it is to be, it is up to me" is usually found on the vision board of many small business owners. I'm here to say that being an expert in everything is one thing but understanding what you don't know is a different thing all together.

My experience with many small business owners is that they look back on their own startup period and think about the things they needed to know at the beginning but had to learn through trial and error. If I told you that there is a method out there that can help you launch a small business easier what would you think? If I told you there is a method that could help you improve that way you run your current business by employing business development strategies that are simple and repeatable would you consider using it? Well there is such a plan.

CO-STARTERS flagship offering is a 9-week. Cohort-based program that equips entrepreneurs of all kinds with the insights, relationships, and tools needed to turn ideas into action. The only real prerequisites to joining the program are (1) having an idea, (2) being willing to question, shape and fine-tune that idea, and (3) being willing to talk about the idea with others.

In the CO-STARTERS program participants enter into a facilitator-led, collaborative process with a small and supportive group of 10-15 like-minded peers. Working together, participants develop and fine-tune their ideas, critically examining every part and determining next steps through real-time feedback from people in the community, using a simplified version of the Business Model Canvas. This approach enables entrepreneurs to rapidly uncover flaws in their concepts and find viable models more quickly. Participants leave the program with a deeper understanding of how to create a sustainable business, articulate their models, and repeat the process with the next great idea. If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, or a seasoned entrepreneur looking to launch a new product or service, CO-STARTERS is for you.

Get involved in the CO-STARTERS program. It starts March 19, 2020 and meets weekly for 9 weeks from 6:00pm-9:00pm in Arenas Valley (11786 Hwy 180 W, Arenas Valley, NM 88022) and the cost is only $125 to cover materials. You can also go to https://www.swnmact.org/costarters for more information.
