Thank you to Dr. Joseph Shepard, President of Western New Mexico University (WNMU), for being our keynote speaker. The topic of Dr. Shepard’s talk was leadership and the importance of being a leader and taking initiative. His speech focused on the risks taken for growth and prosperity in business and the contributions for economic development in our community. Dr. Shepard spoke of what it takes to be a leader and the difficulties that come along with it. He also referred to the hard-working individuals that make a business or organization prosper, especially in a rural community like Grant County.
