Washington, D.C. - House Oversight Leaders sent a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm today demanding answers into her failed electric vehicle showcase. In June, Granholm embarked on a four-day EV journey to showcase the Biden Administration's green policies. The result was a failed trip that required fossil fuels as a bail out when a government-funded staffer used a gasoline-powered vehicle to block a family from charging their own EV.

“The fact that Joe Biden is forcing EVs on American families when they can’t power his own publicity stunts is very telling, and we applaud the House Oversight Committee for seeking answers around this debacle,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “The Biden Administration relentlessly attacks our energy industry while throwing billions of dollars at failed schemes like EVs. Make no mistake: gas prices are high because of Joe Biden, costs are through the roof because of Joe Biden, and America's working families don’t want to buy the EVs being  forced on them by Joe Biden.”

House Oversight leaders are demanding the Department of Energy produce documents and information in order to learn the costs and consequences of Granholm’s failed trip.
