Albuquerque – In a memo uncovered today, the White House is prohibiting senior Biden officials from traveling to energy conferences that focus on oil and natural gas. The policy, in place since late 2021, would prohibit Biden administration officials from traveling to New Mexico to discuss an industry that provides billions of dollars to the state. New Mexico is the second largest producer of oil in the country and hosts a number of critical discussions about the industry, all of which the Biden administration would be prohibited from attending.

“New Mexico is an energy leader thanks to the tireless efforts of thousands of workers and Joe Biden could not care less,” said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. “The fact that politicians in New Mexico endorse a President who won’t even acknowledge the most critical industry in the state is the definition of placing politics over progress. Every member of Congress who represents the Land of Enchantment should denounce this insult to our energy workers and our economy.”
