Washington, D.C. - While addressing the world from the Oval Office tonight, President Biden again failed to mention the billons of dollars the United States is allowing to flow to Iran. In his prepared remarks, the President noted Iran’s deadly role in supporting both Russia and Hamas, yet remained silent on taking real steps to cut Tehran’s money pipeline. Since taking office, the Biden Administration’s neglectful enforcement of oil sanctions has allowed Iran to collect billions on record exports.

In response to the President’s remarks, Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future issued the following statement:

“Joe Biden says money is the lifeline for our allies, but he’s silent on cutting off the illegal cashflow to Iran. It is mind-boggling to watch President Biden make the case that Iran is a central player on the wrong side in two major conflicts and yet not take action to enforce Iran’s oil sanctions. Our workers stand ready to produce the oil and revenue our allies need, but Joe Biden shockingly won’t unleash American energy.”

Power The Future was among the first to call on the Biden Administration to enforce Iranian oil sanctions over a week ago. And it was less than two months ago President Biden said climate change was the biggest threat to mankind, yet didn’t mention the subject in tonight’s remarks.
