Washington, D.C. - California Governor Gavin Newsom is in China today meeting with President Xi Jinping to discuss climate. Newsom’s trip comes as families in California are paying $5.38 per gallon for gasoline which is $1.84 above the national average. Last year, Newsom signed off on regulations banning the sale of gas-powered cars in California by 2035 which will make the state more dependent on Chinese manufactured electric vehicle components.

“We assume this trip is so Xi can meet his top salesman of communist manufactured solar panels and EV parts,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director of Power The Future. “Of course, Gavin Newsom felt a gas-powered jet was the best option because while California pays the worst gas prices in the nation, a governor who runs on hypocrisy is priceless. I guess a Zoom meeting was impossible and the nearest locked-down elite restaurant was booked.”
