Washington, D.C. - Despite President Joe Biden’s constant blaming of Vladimir Putin for high energy prices in the United States, the Russian leader says Biden is his preference to win re-election. Putin praised Biden as “more predictable” and “a politician of the old formation.”   The endorsement arrives less than a month after President Biden put a halt to approvals for liquified natural gas (LNG) exports. As reported today, Biden’s move was pushed by new Climate Czar John Podesta while a member of his family works as lobbyist for foreign LNG producers, including one founded by a Russian energy oligarch that stands to personally profit from Biden’s policy.

“Russia is getting richer and stronger on the world stage, so there’s no question why Putin prefers Biden,” said Daniel Turner Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “By attacking American energy while begging foreign countries to produce more, Joe Biden has made it clear his agenda puts Moscow ahead of Midland. The troubling new report about the Podesta family enriching themselves from the climate industrial complex only add insults to injury.”

Energy sanctions imposed by President Biden after the Russian invasion of Ukraine have not significantly impacted Russian oil exports with China and India buying more. By some estimates, Russian oil revenue is already near the same levels before President Biden imposed sanctions.
