On this Friday after Thanksgiving there are so many thoughts running through my head making it difficult to decide upon a topic for this week's column. That's a sign that we should have another random thoughts and observations column, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it will end up with a general theme more than in the past.

Sidney Powell filed a lawsuit making specific allegations related to the claims of election fraud that she has been making for the past couple of weeks. It is about time. I had opined on last week's radio show that this could be another instance of big talk and no action. Now we have to put our faith in the judicial system, which is hard to do, but there is hope that the Supreme Court will uphold the rule of law. If you want to know more specifics tune into the radio show tomorrow at 9 AM on 92.9 FM.

Smart people learn from everyone and everything; average people learn from their own experiences; stupid people already know everything – Socrates. I posted that on social media and once again one of my liberal acquaintances decided that I should be corrected. This person posted a response in which a 'fact checker' he decided that this quote not necessarily truthful. It turns out to be there was paraphrasing of something Socrates wrote or were three sentences that were pulled out of a larger paragraph. We got into a bit of a discussion about why she felt the necessity to 'correct' my post when she really wasn't 'correcting' any. Her feeble attempt to justify actions basically came down to the fact that she had studied philosophy wanted to be sure that people understood Socrates did not say this in this specific way. It didn't change the meaning of the quote but it is representative, in my experience, of the liberal way of thinking; you are either completely right or completely wrong and there is no in between, especially if you are seen as a conservative.

Imagine this scenario: a police officer in Oregon comes to your door and sees that you have a mirror on your coffee table with a white substance that appears to be cocaine. He asks you what is that on the mirror, to which you reply it's a small amount of cocaine for personal use. His responses clear, he's not worried about the cocaine but that plastic straw you're using to ingest the drug is illegal and you can be arrested or fined for possessing a plastic straw and not cocaine.

If you do not believe the actions being taken by our state governments is about having total control over our lives, you are willfully ignorant. The fact that the mayor of Los Angeles can tell people they are going to shut off power and water if you have too many people in your house is unbelievable. What is more concerning is the number of people who support these actions. We are in a situation where we are about to become a post-apocalyptic type of society without having gone through an apocalypse. Throw in a little bit of Nazi Germany, with the admonition that neighbors should call to report neighbors not abiding by government instructions and mandates, and we've pretty much reached a point where we are giving up all of our freedoms and liberties.

If you are ever lost in the woods and don't think you're going to make it, just look for the North Star; its twinkling will comfort you as you die.

Those of you that believe the claims of election fraud are just coming from a sore loser and his supporters need to educate yourself. The Democrats have been discussing potential election fraud, including with the voting machines supplied by Dominion and Smartmatic, for quite a long time. In December 2019 our Democrats in Congress sent a letter to the hedge funds that financed these two companies demanding information about specific instances in which these voting machines have been used to commit fraud in recent elections. You can find the letter on Senator Elizabeth Warren's website that was signed by Amy Klobuchar as well. I'm sure that won't matter to you since it's okay if your favorite elected officials commit fraud, why, commit sexual harassment, or do anything else for which you would destroy a conservative.

You know you are getting old when you go to bed at the time you used to go out and get up at the time you used to get home.

Let me ask you progressives why you are willing to do things our elected officials demand of us, such as wearing a mask, avoiding large gatherings, restricting our travel, and shopping at non-essential businesses, but you don't get mad when they engage in those very activities? I'll wait.

I think I have rambled enough for today. Please, for the future not only of our country but the future of our children and grandchildren, please keep screaming to the heavens demanding that our elected officials and law enforcement agencies investigate the fraud that has occurred in our election. Send emails to the Justice Department, our state elected officials, local officials, and anyone else whether they will listen or not. One voice may not make a difference but there are more of us out there than you know.
