The people trying to create division among us, the average citizen, have had a pretty good week. They have been able to target the NBA, one of the most "woke" organizations in the world. They've also been able to convince a Military Academy to pull off one of the most idiotic changing of "labels" that I have ever heard. And of course it has resulted in some pretty heated debate among those with differing opinions, further driving a wedge among different demographic groups.

Ime Udoka is technically still the head coach of the Boston Celtics although he will not to be on the sidelines for the upcoming season. He has been suspended for one year after admitting to having an improper relationship, albeit consensual, with a female staff member. In this day and age, anybody should know not to engage in a personal relationship with a fellow employee, much less someone who is lower than you on the company hierarchy. the fact that it was consensual is completely irrelevant and the Celtics were correct to mete out punishment.

However for people like Steven A. Smith of ESPN or Shannon Sharpe of Fox Sports, the Celtics only targeted Ime because he is black. Steven a is in arguably one of the most knowledgeable members of the media when it comes to the NBA. When he says it is not uncommon for there to be consensual relationships such as the one Ime was engaged in, he claims that none of the white executives have been disciplined much less had their dirty laundry aired publicly. In his mind and the mind of other race bakers, the only reason is because of the color of the coach's skin.

It doesn't take much effort to prove Steven A. Smith wrong, simply by doing a search of ESPN's website. There are multiple stories about white executives being dismissed, not suspended, for engaging in inappropriate behavior in the workplace. Gerson Rosas, Donnie Nelson, Robert Sarver, Tony Ronzone, Neal Oshey, and several others appear quite prominently in the reporting of their dismissal and the reasons for it. But since it doesn't fit the narrative of racism, the facts are ignored.

We know that the military's reason for existence is to break things and kill people. Everything they do with regards to training and preparation is designed to achieve that goal in the most effective and efficient way possible. They would also like very much to have military men and women return home alive. But now the military is more concerned with being sensitive to the feelings of others. The Air Force Academy is the latest to put their cadets through diversity, inclusion, and equity training.

Of course, the training includes all of the hot button issues about accepting different lifestyles, different ethnic groups, and being aware of what people want to be called. Unless you want to call your parents mom and dad, which is forbidden. It might offend those who have single parents or grew up in foster homes. There are also some stiff punishments if you misidentify someone or fail to acknowledge their chosen identity or gender.

But the one that seems almost unbelievable is the ban upon calling anybody a terrorist. Calling someone a terrorist might offend them and cause them to make a terroristic attack. Because appeasing terrorist groups such as ISIS or al Qaeda has stopped them from engaging in terrorism so well in the past. Apparently, they don't really hate us until we call them terrorists. I just can't even imagine what will be next on the hit list of unacceptable words.

But even more egregious to me is the acceptable discrimination being promulgated by the Air Force Academy. They have issued invitations to apply for a prestigious program that could eventually lead to becoming an astronaut. Everyone is invited to apply especially if you are a member of a minority group that identifies as queer, binary, non-binary, LGBQTA+, or a whole list of other genders or identities. Unless you identify as a cisgender male. The Air Force Academy's literature specifically says this program is not for you and you will not be allowed to apply much less to be considered.

My recollection of all of our civil rights laws says very clearly that you cannot discriminate based upon any demographic characteristic. There are not any carve outs to allow legal discrimination against any group. There is not any piece of legislation that says it's OK to discriminate. This is clearly institutional racism and discrimination. This doesn't look anything like what the woke crowd claims it is.

It was only five years ago that I was talking about these issues and what road we were traveling down. I made the point that every time we gave an inch on these issues, they were going to ask for two inches more. Even though I knew it would get worse, I did not think it would get this bad. I don't know that I can even imagine what we will be required to do or not to say a year from now. But at least I know I want to be a target of legal discrimination or the hatred of the alphabet mafia, being that I'm a non-binary, black, cisgender lesbian.
