I started doing my radio show in 2005. For those of you that have not heard it, it's a cross between a political commentary show and Paul Harvey's page 3. You might recall or maybe you're too young to remember that Paul Harvey told amusing or feel good type stories on Page 3. Over the years, I haven't had much trouble finding stories to provide that balance. Until the last 2 or 2 1/2 years. Now I have a difficult time finding the amusing stories because many of those websites or news sources where I could find them are filled with more serious news. I also don't have enough time to talk about the issues facing our country under this administration especially. There are simply too many stories of the abuse of power by our government, for example, I can't even get to some of the international stories that I used to look at.

I have done many stories over the years about the infringement by the federal government especially upon our rights. Usually these were actions taken by or regulations implemented by federal agencies. Most often it was the Environmental Protection Agency promulgating regulations to control waterways for example, which they defined as anything that could contain water. A dry wash or a private stock tank would come under their control and thus they would dictate the usage of the private land owner's property. They would demand compliance with their overreaching regulation and if the landowner failed to do so, they would ultimately take the property away. These things are still going on but just get lost in the cacophony of other stories about government power and overreach.

One thing that has definitely changed is the public acknowledgement by politicians and bureaucrats alike wherein they admit they are infringing upon our rights and the goal is to rewrite the Constitution and Bill of Rights. We have heard the discussion about eliminating the Electoral College which would effectively silence the voices of rural communities. We have seen the documents created by the Department of Justice forcing social media sites or news sources to silence opposition voices, restricting people's right to free speech.

Add to the list, the 4th amendment. We know how the FISA court has been used by the FBI to spy upon U.S. citizens and create false cases against them. The law clearly lays out when a U.S. citizen can be surveilled and what steps law enforcement must take to protect the rights and privacy of U.S. citizens. That has not stopped the abuses by the federal government. Recently legislation was introduced into Congress, multiple bills, that would either eliminate the FISA court or strengthen not only the language protecting our rights but also dictating punishments for violation of those rights.

Not surprisingly the Department of Justice, FBI, and the CIA have spoken out against such legislation claiming it would limit their ability to protect the United States from foreign influence. What is a bit surprising, Joe Biden's spokespeople have said in press conferences that despite the concerns about violating our 4th Amendment rights, this legislation, in any form, would so limit the ability to protect the United States that it must be opposed and defeated.

What is very surprising is the statement that the 4th amendment which states "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated", is now claimed to be outdated and in need of revision or elimination. This statement has been made multiple times by assistants to Karen Jean Pierre, and representatives of the Department of Justice both in press conferences and in testimony before Congress. They are not even hiding their disdain for our rights and the protection our laws afford to our rights. They want total control and obedience in the name of the common good.

The fact that they are comfortable in publicly declaring their desire to trample upon our God-given rights says one thing; they have indoctrinated enough of our population into believing the government is your protector and provider. They have created a profound ignorance in our younger generations about what our rights are and the purpose of our founding documents in defining the parameters of a governmental and societal structure designed to protect our rights.

They are not afraid of any retribution. They believe those of us that understand the founding principles of this country are now in the minority. Especially as they let in more and more illegal aliens which include people from countries where these Marxist ideals are practiced. Especially as younger people are more concerned with social media fame, using proper pronouns, and universal basic income so they don't have to work. They truly believe living in a 15-minute city where everything is taken care of for you is the Utopia they are being promised.

There is hope for us. I believe many people are waking up and realize on some level, what is really happening. We still have the power to turn back the tide to some extent. The problem is, can we turn it back far enough to reverse the process?

BTW, my radio show airs on Saturday morning, 9 a.m. on KSCQ 92.9 FM. You can also hear it on demand on Substack. Search for My World there and on Facebook.
