Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Title: Fleet Maintenance Mechanic
FLSA: Regular / Full-time / Union represented upon completion of probation
Salary Contingent upon Experience
Salary Range 6 : Min. $40,060 Mid. $48,068
Reports to: Shop Manager

Position Closes – Friday, October 20, 2023 @ 5 pm

Job Summary/Duties: Under the direction of Shop Manager, performs skilled repair and maintenance of a diverse variety of specialized and complex County owned gasoline and diesel automotive and related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years of current, full-time documented mechanic experience in major overhaul, repair and maintenance of automotive and construction equipment.
• Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints and schematics for trouble shooting and repair.
• As a condition of employment, successful candidate will have up to six (6) months to obtain their CDL.
• Valid New Mexico State Driver's License.
• Must have a good driving record to be insurable for liability purposes

Preferred Qualifications:
• Commercial Driver's License, class B
• ASE Certifications
• Welding Certification
• A/C 609 Certification
• Ability to communicate in Spanish
