Albuquerque, June 11—The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce after today's announcement by the Governor that the Workforce Solutions Department will see improvements of its operating systems with an emphasis on processing unemployment claims:

"Today the Governor said 'New Mexicans expect and deserve a state government that can deliver for them no matter the circumstance.' This Governor has embarrassed New Mexico and its citizens with a Department that has failed the people and led to fraud. The Workforce Solutions Department is in shambles, out of date and things got so bad its Secretary quit. The Governor is the state's Chief Executive, and she continues to exhibit her incompetence to oversee a government that works properly for its citizens. Overpayments, fraud, outdated hardware and software—the list goes on. All this as New Mexico has among the worst unemployment rates in the nation. Lujan Grisham's promises today are too little too late as more and more New Mexicans suffer."
