Dear Editor,

I have been on the GilaEDA and its predecessor Sigred for 30 plus years and have experienced the frustration Silver City and Grant County have gone through trying to diversify our economy.

The City, County and University have come together, which speaks well in it self, to support the Gross Receipts Tax and the quality of life issues that we all will benefit from. It is time for us to support ourselves and stop the stagnation.

Visitors to our community will help pay for the tax.

It provides an opportunity for the community to support the University, as the pool is heavily used by the community.

It will provide our young and old recreational opportunities.

I would encourage support for this tax; it is minimal and a positive outcome will greatly improve our quality of life.
