Santa Fe, N.M. – Speaker Brian Egolf responds to false claims made by the New Mexico Republican Party in a clear demonstration of political pettiness:

"As I disclosed in May, no taxes are owed. An error was made drafting a check to the IRS and I did not learn of the error until a lien was filed. I immediately paid the taxes once I learned of the balance. Steve Pearce is trying to distract New Mexicans from Trump's deceit, dishonesty, and dereliction of duty that has cost the lives of 190,000 Americans and counting. The truth is Pearce and every Republican running in New Mexico have fully embraced Trump's failed policies and stand silent as Trump shatters our economy."

Speaker Egolf has already disclosed the check error and resulting lien months ago in a May 15, 2020 questionnaire published by the Santa Fe New Mexican.
