Summary:
This will be the last update on the Guadalupe Fire from John Thornburg's Type 3 Incident Management Team.

Fire managers with the Type 3 incident management team are transitioning management of the Guadalupe Fire to a type 4 incident management team from the Douglas Ranger District office of the Coronado National Forest. Effective Wednesday morning June 10th, the Douglas office team headed by Julio Robeson will take charge of continued work.

Today fire managers demobilized about 150 firefighters and support personnel from the fire. Left in place will be one hotshot crew, one type 2 crew, six engines, one helicopter, and a road grader. These resources will continue to patrol and rehabilitate fire lines and roads intensively used by firefighters.

The previous road closure has now been lifted. Please use caution when driving on area roads; maintenance equipment and firefighters may still be encountered.

The departing Type 3 Incident Management Team, led by John Thornburg, wishes to express its sincere thanks for the support and patience of all who were affected by this fire. Bringing almost 300 firefighting personnel into small communities like Animas is a challenge for local residents. We recognize this and appreciate the patience and courtesy we were extended.
