After some research, this reporter discovered that not only are two fires'Spur in the Quemado Ranger District, and North in the Magdalena Ranger District'burning in New Mexico, but several lightning-caused fires are burning in Arizona for benefit to the health of a couple of national forests.
The Beat tries to post updates as received on the two New Mexico fires.
In the Tonto National Forest, the Juniper Fire has covered about 3,000 acres, and in the Coconino National Forest the Pivot Rock Fire has so far burned 1,629 acres; the Mormon Fire, 1,206 acres and the Cowboy Fire, 2,139.
