Synopsis:          Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon

 

Location:          Bullard and Broadway

Victim:  Male Juvenile                             Age: 17

                        Silver City, New Mexico

 

Suspect:            Adult Male                                 Age: 20

                        Bayard, New Mexico

 

Narrative:

            On Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 1:50 AM officers of the Silver City Police Department responded to an Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon complaint on the 200 block of South Gold Street, Silver City New Mexico.

 

            Upon officers arrival, they observed a male juvenile (victim) lying on the kitchen floor with a laceration to his right calf.

 

            During their investigation, officers were able to determine that the victim was stabbed at the intersection of Bullard and Broadway. The victim advised the officers that he had been walking downtown with a friend when a red mustang stopped and 2 individuals got out and started to hit his friend. The victim then advised that he knocked down the 20-year-old male (suspect). The victim also stated that while the suspect was lying on the ground next to where he was standing, he felt something strike his right leg. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and left the area.

 

            The victim advised that he walked to a residence on the 200 block of S. Gold Street and that is when he discovered he had been stabbed in the right calf.

 

            The victim was bandaged by EMS personnel and he was then taken to Gila Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

 

            The Silver City Police Department is continuing the investigation into this incident and is asking anyone with information concerning this crime to please call the department at (575) 538-3723.
