The New Mexico Pediatric Society (NMPS), a chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), inducted Dr. Brian Etheridge, MD, FAAP, shown at left, as President during its Fall Leadership Meeting in Albuquerque, NM on October 29, 2016. Dr. Etheridge has been involved in the care of children in New Mexico since working as a student intern for the New Mexico Dept of Health as an undergraduate student at New Mexico State University beginning in 1994.

Dr. Etheridge completed his medical training at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2004 and completed his pediatric training at the University of Louisville School of Medicine/Kosair Children's Hospital in 2007. Dr. Etheridge is a shareholder MD at Silver Health CARE and is a member of the Gila Regional Medical Center Medical Staff. He sees patients from a large geographic region throughout southwest NM and the Eastern corner of Arizona. He is an assistant faculty member of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Etheridge is active in multiple local and statewide committees with keen interests in advocating for pediatric patients and their families. He will continue to be a voting member of the Annual Leadership Forum (ALF) of the AAP which provides guidance to the national AAP's Board of Directors. His term will run through Fall 2018.

The NMPS is dedicated to the health and well being of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The NMPS and Dr. Etheridge are active in multiple areas in the advocacy and care of children throughout New Mexico. Most recently they were key partners in the passage of the Vaccine Purchasing Act during the 2015 legislative session which ensured equal access to pediatric vaccines for all of New Mexico's children.
