On November 7,2011 at approximately 4:16 am., Deputies from the Grant County Sheriff's Department responded to the 400 block of Partridge Drive in Silver City, New Mexico in reference to a fight; while in route Deputies were advised by Central Dispatch that shots had been fired.

Megan Ortiz-Padilla and Jaime Perez were transported by family members to the Gila Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Several witnesses were interviewed by the Investigators at the Grant County Sheriffs Department in reference to the shooting.

The Investigators learned that Alexandro Balderrama had been in an argument in the residence with his girlfriend and Ernest Villa had apparently confronted Balderrama in reference to the argument and was subsequently shot.

Balderrama continued his shooting spree into the living room where the two individuals, Jaime Perez and Megan Ortiz, were shot. Jaime Perez was treated and released from Gila Regional Medical Center and Megan Ortiz was air lifted to a trauma center in EIPaso, Texas. The Investigators are still waiting for her prognosis. Ernest Villa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Balderrama was charged with an Open Count of Murder, two Countsof Aggravated Battery, two Counts of Assault with intent to commit a violent Felony, Tampering with Evidence, Felon in Possession of a firearm.   Balderrama is presently being held at the Grant County Detention Center under a $500,000.00 cash only bond.
