A Job Fair, hosted by Congressman Steve Pearce, Western New Mexico University and the Silver City-Grant County Chamber of Commerce, was held Thursday in Silver City.

Pearce opened the Job Fair by saying: “This Job Fair gives people hope that jobs are available. Thanks for your heart in believing in your community."

He then walked around the room and, prior to a meeting with county officials,  took individuals to tables where they might be able to find a job.

More than 300 job seekers visited about 30 businesses that were hiring.
