According to a dependable source, a single-car/bicycle crash occurred on U.S. Highway 180 about one mile west of the junction of State Highway 61 about 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27.

According to the source, bicyclist Megan Leonard, 25, of New Bern, North Carolina, was struck by an eastbound silver 2002 Lincoln driven by Stephen Quintana, 39, of Las Cruces.

Leonard, the source said, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported from the scene by helicopter to an El Paso hospital.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

QuintanaGÇÖs vehicle sustained moderate damage.

According to the source, charges are pending.
