Teacher Fire

The Teacher Fire is estimated at 3,190 acres. Today resources on the Teacher Fire patrolled and secured CAT-C021/Snow Lake Road, the handline from the campgrounds to FSR 713, and along FSR 713. This action was taken to help secure this road network from yesterday's burning operations. Late this afternoon or early tomorrow morning resources plan to burn approximately 400 acres on the far west side of the fire along CAT-CO21 to the junction of FSR 713 to secure the western flank of this fire. A Type 3 organization continues to manage this fire.

Gravel Fire

The Gravel Fire is estimated at 1,860 acres. Today resources took suppression actions in Indian Creek. This action was taken to secure the fire north of Indian Creek. Resources on the west flank of the fire continued to monitor fire growth. Resources are prepping this road and burning it out to stay even with the fire as it burns north.

Snow Lake is still open as are the Dipping Vat, Willow Creek and Ben Lilly Campgrounds. Smoke will be visible from main roads in that area. Smoke-sensitive individuals and people with respiratory or heart disease are encouraged to take precautionary measures.
