Lightning recently struck the building where the relay is for 950 AM radio. The relay was destroyed by the strike.
Sabrina Pack, manager of Silver City Radio and SkyWest Media, told the Beat that listeners in Silver City can receive the same programming at 96.5 FM.
The part that was "fried" by the lightning has been removed and a replacement ordered. It will likely be installed the first part of next week, so your favorite programs will be back on the air by mid-week, Aug. 15 or 16.
