On June 30, 2019 at approximately 6:30pm, Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department arrested Hector A. Rosales, 39, of Bayard, NM. He was located in Santa Clara, NM. He was wanted on several Magistrate warrants and one District Court warrant for failing to comply with his conditions of probation. The original charges were Battery on a Peace Officer, Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, and Criminal Damage to property. Mr. Rosales has been actively and intentionally evading contact with law enforcement in recent weeks.

An off duty Grant County Sheriff’s Sergeant observed and recognized Mr. Rosales. He then contacted the Patrol Division supervisor and a check of the residence where he was seen was conducted. Consent to search was given and Mr. Rosales was located in a van parked on the north side of the property. Mr. Rosales was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Grant County Detention Center.

Mr. Rosales faces a variety of criminal charges and violations of probation.
