On November 16, 2019 at approximately 11:46 a.m. Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling on Kirkland Rd. observed a black motorcycle with no license plate. Deputies attempted a traffic stop at which time the driver made a U-Turn and tried to evade at high speed. Due to the number of Deputies in the area, the driver of the motorcycle stopped and fled on foot, abandoning it. The driver, later identified as Brandon Villegas, was apprehended in the area shortly thereafter.

He was booked into the Grant County Detention Center without incident. It was later determined the motorcycle was reported stolen from the Albuquerque Metro Area. It was recovered pending return to the registered owner. Villegas was charged with multiple misdemeanor and felony offenses.
