At a special meeting held Jan. 27, 2020, Grant County commissioners approved the transfer of the dispenser of the liquor license for the Buckhorn Saloon and Pinos Altos Opera House.

Debbie Rogers with Remax, who is handling the sale, explained that the Buckhorn had been purchased from the Tatsch family by Richard and Charlotte Griffin and daughter Lindsay Cantrell and her husband Alex.

"Thomas Bock, manager of the Buckhorn and Opera House is leasing the liquor license at present," Rogers said. "He would have been here, but he has the flu. The request for transfer will have it owned by LACR LLC, doing business as Buckhorn Saloon and Pinos Altos Opera House."

Commissioners approved it with little discussion.

District 3 Commissioner Alicia Edwards said: "Congratulations. The Buckhorn is an important part of the community."

Richard Griffin, in attendance, along with his daughter, Lindsay, said: "We wanted to purchase it to keep it open. We like to eat there."

Lindsay concurred: "We're excited to keep it in the community."
