Man dies in crash on Highway 61

The Grant County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a Dodge 2500 pickup. The crash occurred on Highway 61 – MM 10 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, Darrin Dwayne Caldwell, 49, of Highway 35, Mimbres.

Caldwell was transported to Gila Regional Medical Center at 11:27 p.m., according to the Office of the Medical Investigator, and pronounced deceased at 11: 38 p.m. The cause of the crash is as yet undetermined as the incident remains under an ongoing investigation.
