On Thursday, July 9, 2020 at about 1:57 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers responded to I-10 near MM 46 in reference to a single vehicle crash involving a commercial motor vehicle. Preliminary investigation showed the semi was traveling east on I-10 and for unknown reasons swerved to the left and entered the median. The driver then corrected to the right causing the semi to turn over onto its driver's side. The semi came to rest blocking all eastbound lanes of I-10. The driver sustained injuries to his left arm and was flown out by Native Air to El Paso.

Also responding to the crash scene were personnel from the Tyrone Volunteer Fire Department and Hidalgo County EMS.

I-10 passes through the southward extension of Grant County between MM 34-54, according to TVFD Chief Roger Groves.
