According to a Silver City Police Department accident report narrative, Joyce McLaughlin, 61, of Albuquerque, told officers as she was reaching into the passenger side of her 2019 black Ford vehicle, which was parked in a driveway at 2418 Kris Circle, on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, she accidently released the emergency brake causing the car to roll back and strike the wall of a residence at 2412 Kris Circle.

SCPD officers responded to the accident at 11:52 a.m. and observed slight damage to the wall of the residence, owned by Holly Rogers, and to the black Ford car, the narrative said. McLaughlin, according to a blotter report, was transported by EMS to Gila Regional Medical Center, complaining of an injured right leg.

McLaughlin was also cited for having no proof of insurance and no registration.
