The Grant County Art Guild's Pinos Altos Gallery always has a wide variety of art and fine crafts for the visitors to enjoy. This weekend is special in that, in addition to viewing some of the best in local traditional paintings and other wall art, you will have as your hosts a very creative gourd artist, a fabric artist who presents popular crocheted baskets and other mixed media items and a wall artist who does unique alternative process photography.

On Friday, August 2, the featured artist will be Ann Alexander, whose gourd art ranges from large abstract to small character pieces, enhanced with clay and other decorative touches. If you like to see what can be done with gourds and art, this is a must-see.

Jan Wagner is a long-time favorite fabric artist at the gallery. Jan will be your host on Saturday August 3. Her attractive and useful crocheted baskets are among the most purchased items from the crafts area. She also creates other fabric items and you should check out what she can do with corks!

On Sunday, August 4, Carmen Ruiz will be the featured artist at the Pinos Altos Art Gallery. Carmen is a photographer who thinks outside the box in doing non-traditional prints - some polaroid, some digitally altered - all exceptional, winning ribbons and getting rave reviews from visitors. Stop in and let Carmen show you her unique art work.
