Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest completed a program called "Power of the Penny," where girls were able to learn about money. They played a game where they earned allowances, paid for movies and treats, and earned money by selling things.
Girls also discussed how they could earn money to put in a piggy bank. When Connie Evans was asked how she would earn some money she said: "I can work for Grandpa feeding animals." Kassidy Harris said; "If I do chores I can earn money." Girls also decorated ceramic piggy banks to take home.
