June 3, at 10 am, 3845 North Swan Street – "Afghanistan" - Larry McLaud, a native New Yorker, has degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Idaho. He's been a fire lookout, fire fighter, food-coop worker and a professional for many years within the conservation community. He is also a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Afghanistan and Malaysia in the 1970s.

Larry notes that Afghanistan is a place far different from the USA in many ways. Most Americans cannot find Afghanistan on a map, but have heard bits and pieces of information about this war torn country. He will share some of his experiences that might offer insight into how we can help peace prevail in this colorful country.

Although this is not a Family Program Sunday, there will be childcare available for parents who would like to attend. There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are always welcome.
