Saturday, July 7, Bill Hudson will be giving a walking tour of the historic Mattocks Archaeological Site beginning at 1 p.m. The trail is level but can get very hot, so bring a hat and sunscreen. Guests will learn about the pre-historic people who inhabited the area for 900 years, and who are world renown for the black on white pottery they produced. The museum will be open as well as the Granville Wood doctor's office.

Sitting under the old porch and enjoy watching the hummingbirds is relaxing. Have a picnic lunch while you are there.

The Mimbres Culture Heritage Site is maintained by the Imogen F. Wilson Education Foundation, a 501(c)3. Located a block off highway 35, it is easy to find. Take highway 35 and between mile marker 3 and 4 is Sage Drive. Turn there and drive the block to #12, the old territorial adobe house. There is plenty of parking, a restroom, gift/book shop and more. The tour is free but donations are welcomed to help "keep the lights on." Drive carefully and see you Saturday!
