(SANTA CLARA/DEMING, NM) – The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) will make veterans benefits outreach visits in the coming weeks to Grant and Luna Counties to provide benefits assistance to veterans and widows of veterans.
A DVS Veterans Service Officer will be at its Santa Clara office, located at 11990 U.S. Hwy 180 East, from 9am-3pm on the following dates:
- September 25
- October 10
- October 23
A DVS Veterans Service Officer will be at the following locations in Deming from 9am-3pm:
- Sep. 26-Deming Senior Center (800 South Granite St.)
- Oct. 2-Deming Helping Hand (3801 Raymond Reed Blvd.)
- Oct. 31-Deming Senior Center (800 South Granite St.)
DVS is in the process of restructuring its benefits coverage/outreach to the region due to the departure of its Grant County-based Veterans Service Officer earlier this year. Veterans and widows needing assistance can also contact it Las Cruces field office at (575) 524-6220 or (575) 524-6124.
No appointments are necessary for these outreach visits. Veterans are encouraged to bring their DD-214 Separation Papers or any documents from the VA in order to help expedite any on-site filing process that could begin. DVS can also assist with filing for lost DD-214’s.
