Ron Troy, Southern New Mexico Project Manager for the New Mexico Land Conservancy, will speak to the Silver City Rotary Club on October 8.  He will explain the activities of the Gila Trails and Open Space Coalition which is dedicated to maintaining open space and trails in local forest and wilderness areas.  

“Our mission is to enhance public health, and the well-being of people in this area, and local economic vitality,” says Troy.

Members of the public are always invited to attend Rotary Club meetings that are of interest to them.  The Silver City Rotary Club meets every Tuesday for lunch in the Sunset Room of the WNMU Student Cafeteria in the WNMU Student Memorial Building at 1000 College Avenue.  There is no charge to attend the meeting, but guests are asked to contribute $10 if they wish to join the Rotarians in eating a lunch with a hot entree, salad, and dessert.  The lunch line opens at noon; the meeting begins at 12:15 p.m.; the presentation starts at 12:30 p.m. and ends at 1 p.m.

Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous local civic activities and organizations.
