“Muffin”, a mixed media sculpture offering by Marsha Banas, checks out the beautiful gourd art that is the work of Ann Alexander. This show is a delightful mix of media produced by local artists.The Individual Artists of the Silver City Art Associations annual Indie Show has come together with an amazing array of local art!  This show is titled “Do You See What I See?”  and  the public is cordially invited to an opening  reception on Saturday, October 12, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Paula Geisler, artist, supporter of local art  and owner of  The Geisler Gallery aka Common Ground is hosting the reception and the Indie Show.   At the reception you can meet the artists, enjoy the always delicious food offerings from Revel and the keyboard music of Pat Barsch.    

The exceptional exhibit showcases the art of local artists Ann Alexander, Marsha Banas, Sandy Feutz, Paula Geisler, James Kane, Karen Lauseng, Barker Manning, Teri Matelson, Miriam Richer, Gay Scheibl, Patricia Taber, Jo Thomas, Tom Vaughan and Maryam Weidner.  The variety includes paintings, sculptures, mosaics ,pen and ink etchings,  photography and much more.  The presentations  and creativity of the show could well have earned  it  the title of “The Unexpected!”.  Come and experience the vision of the artist and see if your vision is the same or something totally different.  It is a unique exhibit that invites you to enjoy your  adventure into the mind of the artist..

The 2019 “Indie Show” will hang at the Geisler Gallery aka Common Ground, 102 W. Kelly Street in downtown Silver City  from October 12 through November 9th. Show hours are Saturday, October 12, 10 a.m. till 7 p.m.; Sunday, October 13, 10 a.m. till 3 p.m.; and Monday, October 14, 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.  The show will continue on regular Geisler Gallery hours through November 9th.  As part of the Silver City Art Association Weekend at the Galleries,  the opening reception is  Saturday, October 12, 5 p.m. till 7 p.m . Good  friends - good food - good music -  and great art!.
