Silver City, NM – On Thursday, November 21, 2019, a panel of local veterans will address “Veterans’ Services: Accomplishments and the Work Ahead,” in the 63rd edition of the “Third Thursday” public forums at WNMU’s J. Cloyd Miller Library.  The forum will start at 6:00pm.

The panel will include Joseph Gomez (Marines), Luz Ponce (Marines), Lindee Lenox, (Army, and former Senior Executive with the VA’s National Cemetery Administration), and Trent Pressler, (Navy), and will be moderated by Paulo Veltri, (Army).

The event is sponsored by the Grant County Democratic Party, WNMU’s Miller Library, and the WNMU Native American club and MEChA student organization.

“VA services for our veterans are of critical importance to our whole society,” said Grant County Democratic Party chairman Thomas Durham, himself a veteran of the Air Force.  “Here in Southwest New Mexico, our many deserving vets have the added difficulty of sometimes having to travel significant distances to get those services.”

Everyone is invited to come hear from and ask questions of the panel members, stay to converse with them after the forum, and enjoy the refreshments served following the forum.
