What:     The Western New Mexico University Board of Regents Workshop and Meeting during which the board will receive information on a number of key university matters during the morning workshop and discuss nine action items, also reviewing the president’s performance evaluation, during the regular session. Workshop topics include: Fall Plans, Enrollment, Athletics, Program Review Methodology Committee, Accreditation Update, Budget Update, Capital Projects Update, Title IX and Freeport-McMoRan layoffs. New business on the agenda for the regular session includes the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Quarter 4 Financial Certification; Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Research and Public Service Projects; Authorizing the Issuance of the Regents of Western New Mexico University System Refunding Revenue Bond, Series 2020A; Resolution Authorizing the Submission of an Application to the New Mexico Finance Authority Requesting Financing Assistance for the Refunding of the Series 2012 Bonds; Resolution Authorizing theIssuance of the Regents of Western New Mexico University Subordinate Lien System Revenue Bonds, Series 2020B (for Energy Savings Contract);

Resolution Authorizing the Submission of an Application to the New Mexico Finance Authority Requesting Financing Assistance for the Energy Savings Contract; Revised Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Budget Adjustment Request; Revised 5-Year Capital Outlay Projects & Institutional Capital Projects & Infrastructure Projects; Revised Capital Project Transmittal for 10th Street Improvements and Infrastructure. The agenda and other pertinent documents are available at admin.wnmu.edu/bor/meetings.  

Who:      WNMU Board of Regents Chair Jerry Walz will present the evaluation of the president’s performance. WNMU President Dr. Joseph Shepard will give a report. WNMU Vice President of Business Affairs Kelley Riddle will present action items. Board Vice Chair Dr. Mary Hotvedt, Student Regent and Board Secretary/Treasurer Tim Stillman, and members Janice Baca-Argabright and Dr. Carl Foster are also expected to be in attendance.

When:    The WNMU Board of Regents workshop and meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 20. The workshop will start at 10 a.m., while the regular session will start at 3 p.m.

Where:   The executive session, workshop and regular session will all occur virtually.
