Silver City, NM, August 6, 2020--For Immediate Release. Are you tired of being stuck indoors all day and want a chance to get out and do something? Well, here is your chance! Come volunteer some of your free time to help your public lands!!!

Partners of the Southwest New Mexico Collaborative are offering a variety of volunteer opportunities that you can help with. The Southwest New Mexico Collaborative is an emerging initiative to ensure greater and more efficient coordination and alignment among local government, land management agencies and community-based organizations, working towards a shared vision of healthy forests and watersheds, resilient communities, vibrant local economies, and high quality of life for current and future generations in southwest New Mexico.

Partners currently offering volunteer opportunities include the New Mexico State Parks (NMSP), City of Rocks State Park, USDA Forest Service (FS) Gila National Forest, National Park Service (NPS) Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument), and the Grant County area.

Each agency has several projects and volunteer opportunities available to the public with flexible schedules. Some of these can be as often as you like –some are for a few hours a day, while others can range from one day, one week, one month, or longer.

Currently, we have a few projects that need volunteers.  Listed below are the volunteer opportunities available for Summer/Fall 2020:
