The Town of Silver City received funding from the New Mexico Department of Tourism
to provide a free resource to local businesses to improve their online presence.

The Town of Silver City is excited to offer this new resource for local businesses that are
interested in improving their digital marketing efforts. The Tourism Business Marketing
Academy is an online platform covering best practices to improve your business’s
presence in Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor and more. Whether a business is trying to figure
out how to update the phone number that shows up for your business in Google search,
want to figure out whether you should invest in content marketing for your business, or
you want best practices for responding to reviews on TripAdvisor, there are a variety of
articles and videos available that will help you improve the visibility of your business
online and generate more business.

Patrick Hoskins, Manager of the Murray Ryan Visitor Center is the coordinator for the
program and can connect businesses to the online resources. “We are so excited to offer
this program for the Town of Silver City. It will make businesses more visible for both
tourists coming to our area and residents. More than 50% of all online searches go
through Google, so having this training and taking advantage of the free resources will
help every business be more visible online. We are partnering with Silver City
MainStreet and the Silver City/Grant County Chamber of Commerce to reach out to
businesses and inform them of this free resource.”

Please contact Patrick@visitsilvercity.org if you have any questions and to receive the
links to the free training.
