The Silver City Rotary Club’s November speakers will discuss how the community is coping with COVID-19 and how the Silver City Rotary Club Foundation helps the club meet its many goals.

On November 3, Silver City Mayor Ken Ladner will discuss how the town of Silver City is coping with the problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic and how COVID-19 is affecting the town’s future. On November 17 Shane Coker, principal at Silver High School, will provide a more precise look at the high school and how it is addressing COVID-19 issues.

On November 10, Peter Falley, chair of the local Rotary Club’s Foundation, will explain the charitable work the local foundation supports in Grant County, Rotary District 5520 and internationally.

The club will hold its monthly business meeting on November 24.

Community members are always welcome to attend Rotary meetings which are held at noon on Tuesdays via Zoom. If anyone wishes to be included in one of these Zoom meetings, they should send an email request including their email address and phone number, to info@silvercityrotary.org.

Some of the Rotary International Foundation’s ongoing projects are eliminating polio world-wide and bringing clean water systems to remote villages in third-world countries. In recent months, the RI Foundation has approved more than 3.7 million dollars in disaster response grants for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
