Silver City, NM, December 4, 2020 -- For Immediate Release. The Gila National Forest, Silver City Ranger District needs to address some issues at the parking lots at the Dragonfly Trailhead -- small passenger vehicles parking in the larger parking lot and parking too close to the gate.

There are two parking areas at the Dragonfly Trailhead. The smaller lot, which is closer to the restroom and trailhead entry point, is for small passenger vehicles. The larger parking lot is for large vehicles and horse trailer parking. The gate needs to be left unblocked so that equestrians can unload and prep horses to ride the trails.

District Ranger Beth Ihle asks that our visitors with smaller passenger vehicles park in the lot closest to the restroom and only use the larger area as an overflow parking area If the smaller lot is at capacity, and please do not block the gate.
