In J.D. Smith’s story of family, music, and self-discovery, Gustavo's family has a mariachi band and everyone except Gustavo is in it. Readers and listeners follow Gustavo’s journey to find his place in the family business.
The next upcoming Bilingual Storytime will be on February 14 at 7pm, when Kendra Milligan and Simon Sotelo will read The Princess and the Warrior: a Tale of Two Volcanos, by Duncan Tonatiuh. The Silver City Museum Storytime Series brings to the public children’s stories about the land and people of the Southwest, in a bilingual format. Storytime is designed to engage early readers and their families virtually (in the comfort of your own home) to enjoy reflections on life in our region in English and Spanish. The public can register and attend for free at www.silvercitymuseum.org, and also sign up to receive email notifications of upcoming events. All events are hosted on the platform Zoom, which is easy to use and has a text chat feature. Audience participation is welcome!
The Museum partners with the Silver City Public Library, which hosts its own Storytime on Wednesday mornings at 10am. The Library encourages families to check it out at www.silvercitypubliclibrary.org under Children’s Activities.
