Silver City MainStreet/Arts & Cultural District is partnering with the Future Forge and various community groups and artists to offer an arts and cultural experience to residents of Grant county. Make-and-Take activities will be from 10 am to 2 pm every Saturday at the Maker’s Market at Main Street Plaza, May through October.

On Saturday, October 23, Grant County Art Guild member Eric Ockerhausen will host a wood-burning activity. There will be a choice of wood-burning images including Zia, lizard, cowboy boot, butterfly, quail, and other designs. An alternate activity will be provided for younger participants, who will stamp or stencil designs on pieces of pottery. Participants of all ages are welcome.

The Grant County Art Guild Gallery at 316 N. Bullard showcases fine arts and fine crafts by Grant County artists and artisans. The beauty and spirit of Southwest New Mexico comes to life in oils, acrylics, watercolors, drawings, photography, and prints. You'll find mosaics, stained glass, clay art, wall hangings, and pillows to brighten and accent your home or garden.

Remember if you are visiting downtown Silver City as a resident or tourist, to take time to stroll through the Big Ditch Park, check out the Maker’s Market and discover your downtown!
