The MainStreet Gift Certificate program brings shoppers and dollars into the 130 plus Downtown Silver City businesses. Evangeline Zamora, board president of Silver City MainStreet states, “We are grateful to First American Bank for sponsoring this program. They are great to work with and as a local bank, they understand the value of shopping local.

This year, we urge Silver City residents to think local and buy local first.

Downtown Silver City has many more retail shops than many realize, and we have great restaurants and coffee houses too. In fact, there are 22 eateries, 27 retail shops, 4 antique shops, and 24 art galleries in downtown Silver City. All of them are locally owned. Let’s help these businesses by supporting them with MainStreet Gift Certificates.

Gift certificates are a win-win situation for those who receive the gift certificates and for the downtown merchants who participate in the program, said Zamora. The certificates make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays, or other special occasions. And with the wide variety of retail shops, restaurants, and other services in the downtown area, these certificates make it possible for every recipient to choose just exactly what they want.

Silver City MainStreet is always looking for ways to encourage local spending and to promote our local economy. The Gift Certificate Program offers a way to do just that, while at the same time giving the recipient a whole world of options- right here in downtown Silver City. For every dollar spent locally, 67 cents stay in the community.”

MainStreet Gift Certificates can be purchased in $5.00, $10.00, and $25.00 denominations at the First American Bank main office located at 1609 N. Swan Street, Home Furniture located at 207 South Bullard in Historic Downtown Silver City, Gila Hike and Bike located at 103 E. College, or the Silver City Visitors Center located at the corner of Broadway and Hudson Streets.

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City that is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit our website, www.silvercitymainstreet.com to learn more.
