The Rotary Club of Silver City has announced that Kathleen Cahill the CEO of Gila Regional Medical Center, will be the speaker via Zoom at its meeting on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Cahill, who was appointed to her position as CEO of the hospital on November 29, graduated from Silver High School and has deep roots in Grant County. According to a media release at the time of her appointment, Cahill "has significant health care experience in New Mexico as a hospital executive and a hospital market CEO.”

Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary is the world’s oldest and largest service organization, with more than 1.2 million members in more than 168 countries.

Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous non-profit organizations and civic causes in Silver City and Grant County as well as supporting and participating in humanitarian projects sponsored by Rotary International.

Normally, the Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon in the Sunset Room in the WNMU Student Memorial Building. Because of the recent Covid surge the meeting on January 18, 2022 will be on zoom.

For the January 25 meeting we are planning a zoom hybrid, but are requesting that people who are not fully vaccinated should attend via Zoom. Subsequent meetings are also planned for Zoom hybrid and these meetings will be held in the Sunset Room in the WNMU Student Memorial Building.
