All trail users welcome. No trail work experience needed!

Gila Back Country Horsemen (Gila BCH) organizes volunteer trail projects in the Gila National Forest and Gila Wilderness.  View our spring 2022 trail project schedule and details: Click Here

These projects are a great way to explore a new area while giving back. Trail projects range from front-country to remote back-country trails and are between 1 – 7 days. Volunteer equine packers are also needed to help pack in gear and tools for back-country projects.

The Gila Chapter partners with other trail users like hikers and bikers to keep trails open for all. Celebrating 20 years in 2021, Gila BCH’s mission is to “Perpetuate the commonsense use and enjoyment of horses in America's backcountry and wilderness areas.”
