give grandly 2019Every spring the Give Grandly Coalition, with major support from the Grant County Community Foundation, organizes Give Grandly, its big fundraising marathon for area nonprofits. The annual fundraiser this year is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Area nonprofits that wish to participate in the event this year are encouraged to email the Give Grandly Coalition at givegrandlycoalition@gmail.com or the Grant County Community Foundation at grantcountycommunityfoundation@gmail.com. The first planning meeting will be held virtually at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

Nonprofits provide a great range of activities and services that contribute to the quality of life here in southwest New Mexico.

They run food pantries and shelters; rescue animals; provide activities for children; promote literacy; preserve culture; promote art; support libraries, museums, schools and the university; grant scholarships; foster economic development; advocate for the environment; maintain trails; preserve historical and archeological sites; organize community festivals, plays, concerts, lectures, exhibits, field trips—and much more.

Funds raised through Give Grandly help nonprofits to stay in operation, reach their goals, and serve our community. With each successive year, more and more organizations have participated and more funds have been raised. In 2021, the community came through in a big way, contributing a total of over $264,000.00 in donations and matching funds for the 59 participating nonprofits. If we as a community can keep up that kind of giving, the total raised over the eight years of Give Grandly in our corner of New Mexico could reach $1.4 million dollars.

“We look forward to another successful Give Grandly in May and welcome nonprofits to participate in planning the event,” states Andrea Warner, president of the Give Grandly Coalition. “Please email us to take part in the February virtual meeting and to sign up for the event.”
